The Buttercup was founded in 1975 by a group of five women and is considered a Charlotte treasure.  Kim Gordon is the second generation owner after purchasing from her mother-in-law, Stewart in 2017.  Kim has a modern approach to Southern tradition and focuses to curate a special collection for gift giving and entertaining.  Leading the art direction with their in-house graphic designer, their custom invitations, stationery and monograms have a flair that reflects the customer's individual style.  The shop recently moved to its new location in the Myers Park Center next to the Harris Teeter, just minutes from uptown.  When you visit, you will likely be welcomed by Pearl, our Frenchie that comes to work on most days.  We invite you to come see us if you are a local or visiting the Queen City.
